On Saturday 14 December 2024, starting at 2.30 pm, in Rome, at the headquarters of GAY CENTER (Via Zabaglia 14), the final public initiative of the project “Let Us Be AdvoQueers: Advocacy Class at Arcigay Rete Donne Transfemminista” (EL*C funded). The project promoter is Arcigay Transfeminist Women's Network. Arcigay Rete Donne Transfemminista, formally established in 2019, is the national activist, identity-based, transfeminist, LBTIQA+ network within the Arcigay association, made up of lesbian, bisexual, transgender*, intersex, queer, aromantic-asexual, non-binary, and intersex people who experience a sense of recognition and/or an individual connection to their LGBTQ+ identity and/or LGBTQ+ activism, and allies from all over Italy.
“Let Us Be AdvoQueers: Advocacy Class at Arcigay Rete Donne Transfemminista”, a project involving experimental research, internal training, external awareness-raising, multi-level advocacy and policy engagement with an LBQ+ focus, on a national scale, was funded by the EuroCentralAsian Lesbian* Community (EL*C).
EL*C It is an international, lesbian*, feminist, intersectional federation made up of collective entities (registered associations, collectives, operational sub-groups within LGBTIQA+ associations) with a lesbian* focus and/or leadership and by individual lesbians*, respectively operating and existing in the European continent and in Central Asia.
Arcigay Rete Donne Transfemminista has been a member organization of the EL*C network since 2022. The project has been awarded a financial contribution by the EuroCentralAsian Lesbian* Community (EL*C) as part of “Resourcing Lesbian* Movements in Europe – 2023”, a grant program funded by EL*C itself and co-funded by the European Union. The aforementioned program, by helping to subvert the phenomenon of underfunding that penalizes the lesbian* movement in the European Union, is making it possible to implement 31 lesbian-focused* projects aimed at encouraging the visibility of LGBTQ+ people and functional to the fight for the human rights of lesbian, bisexual, transgender*, intersex, queer, aromantic-asexual, non-binary and intersex people who experience a sense of recognition and/or an individual connection towards the LGBTQ+ identity and/or LGBTQ+ activism, within the current Member States. “Let us Be AdvoQueers: a lesson in Advocacy in Arcigay Rete Donne Transfemminista” is the first national project of Arcigay Rete Donne Transfemminista for high-level internal training and external dissemination concerning theories and practices, past, recent and future, of national transfeminist advocacy, with a lesbian focus*, functional, in the pursuit of gender equality, to the promotion of the full realization of the human rights of socialized women and non-binary people belonging, as such, to the LGBTIQ+ community, in all their diversity.

On December 14, 2024, starting at 2:30 pm, in Rome, at the GAY CENTER headquarters (Via Zabaglia 14, ROME), the “Let Us Be AdvoQueers” team will present the project TOOLKIT, a synthetic version of the original thematic training material produced by the team itself, already disseminated on the occasion of three previous macro-area territorial project meetings, of an informative, socio-cultural and aggregative nature (Modena, September 28, 2024; Siena, October 19, 2024; Catania, November 16, 2024) and will also retrace the salient stages of the project's conception and implementation.
