MOTHERS OUTLAW. Lesbians unite for full recognition of motherhood.

️️⚧️ On the occasion of the Lesbian Visibility Week, The lesbian community takes to the streets to demand full recognition of motherhood, in all its forms.
A demonstration organized by Italian organizations: ALFI, Arcigay Rome, Lesbian Difference, Rainbow Families, Lesbians Bologna, the Transfeminist Network of Arcigay and Arcigay Modena "Matthew Shepard"“ To protest against the Italian government's continued attack on same-sex families, particularly lesbian mothers.
⚖️ In March 2024, the Ministry of the Interior decided to appeal the decision of the Padua court that rejected the Prosecutor's Office's request to remove one of the two mothers from the birth certificates of 38 boys and girls. This legal action, which comes after a year of political attacks, threats, and ministerial circulars, is yet another attempt to categorize humanity according to racial, xenophobic, misogynistic, nationalist, sexual orientation, and gender expression criteria. The creation of first-class mothers (biological and heterosexual) and second-class mothers (lesbian, intentional, adoptive, foster, single) is fully part of this project that is gaining ground and strength in Italy and Europe.
Last summer, lesbians across Europe demonstrated in front of Italian embassies abroad, and the Italian lesbian movement demonstrated in front of the Vatican to denounce this government's homo-lesbian-transaphobia. We know that Meloni and her majority want to make our lives and our children the battleground of the upcoming European elections. For this reason, the representatives of the EuroCentral Asian Lesbian Community (EL*C) support our struggles and will participate again, as long as necessary, in our protests in Italy and abroad.
❤️We lesbians know that silence won't save us. The constant political attacks against us, against gay fathers, and against young trans* people demonstrate that this government stops at nothing, not even children. Lesbians are not stopping and are taking to the Esquilino square in Rome on April 27th, forcefully declaring: #anchenoisiamomadri
