PRIDE WAVE, PROCESSION TODAY IN BELLUNO AND ISERNIA. PIAZZONI (ARCIGAY): "IN THE STREET AGAINST HATERS AND THOSE WHO INSPIRE THEM"“
Bologna, July 13, 2024 Belluno and Isernia are the two cities that will be hosting the Onda Pride parades today, a large-scale demonstration in support of LGBTQ+ rights organized by Arcigay and other local and national associations. The Belluno Pride meeting is scheduled for 2:00 PM in the train station square, while the Molise Pride in Isernia will meet at 5:00 PM in Piazza della Repubblica.
“"In a country where same-sex couples are still denied housing, it is undoubtedly essential to take to the streets," says Gabriele Piazzoni, general secretary of Arcigay. He continues: "It happened in Cuneo this time, where a woman refused to welcome a male couple into her shelter. But it happens every year, in every region of Italy. The discrimination this government not only fails to address, but fuels daily is a social alarm, with public statements and behavior that inspire haters and incite them to conflict. We respond to them and to those who manipulate them with our anger and our pride," concludes Piazzoni.
