July 26, 2025 Three marches are scheduled today as part of Onda Pride, the large-scale demonstration in support of LGBTQIA+ rights promoted by Arcigay and other local and national associations. Rimini Summer Pride will meet at 5:00 PM in Piazzale Kennedy, Termoli Molise Pride will meet at 5:00 PM on Lungomare Colombo, and Trapani Pride will meet at 5:00 PM in Piazza Martiri d'Ungheria.
Gabriele Piazzoni, general secretary of Arcigay, states: "A 23-year-old boy dragged to the ground, kicked, threatened with death with phrases like 'I'll suffocate you, let's take him to the closet without cameras'—all this by those who are supposed to guarantee safety in a place frequented by thousands of people every day. The homophobic attack a few days ago at the Roma Est shopping center is emblematic of Italy's decline: even private security guards are turning into a persecutory gang. As we march today in three cities, we shout our solidarity with the young man who was attacked and with all the victims of hate. This is not a simple brawl: it is the toxic consequence of a culture that goes hand in hand with politics, that fans the embers of hatred and legitimizes homo-lesbian-transphobia. Today's Pride parades are acts of indictment against a system in which those in charge of safety become executioners, in which the rhetoric of 'danger' is the alibi for institutionalizing violence." He concludes. Piazzoni.
