LGBTI TOURISM: ARCIGAY RECOGNIZED BY THE INTERNATIONAL LGBTQ+ TRAVEL ASSOCIATION. PIAZZONI: "A RECOGNITION THAT HONORS US."'
Bologna, October 4, 2022 – This morning, The International Travel Association has announced that Arcigay is the association that will receive the 2022 Pathfinder Award., an award given to an individual or organization that has had a significant positive impact on their destination by demonstrating the highest standards of warmth and hospitality to the LGBTQ+ community. Arcigay will receive the Pathfinder Award on October 28th during the IGLTA Global Convention, scheduled for October 26th to 29th in Milan. "This recognition from the International LGBTQ+ Association honors us and rewards us for the many efforts and commitment that so many people put into Arcigay's activities every day," said Gabriele Piazzoni, Arcigay Secretary General. He continues: "With our seventy offices throughout Italy, we strive to be a concrete point of reference for the LGBTQ+ community, close to people, supporting them through difficulties but also exploring the opportunities our country offers. The perspective of international networks and stakeholders is therefore invaluable to us, allowing us to gauge our strengths and understand if we're on the right path. Today, we're receiving unexpected positive feedback, which flatters us and makes us proud," concludes Piazzoni.
