We are all HIV-involved

We are all HIV-involved” is the claim of the new Arcigay campaign which, with a video, sends a double message: an appeal for collective responsibility in reducing the epidemic and stigma towards people with HIV, but also an informative message on the fact that Today, a person with HIV on therapy with an undetectable viral load does not transmit the virus.

We are all “seroinvolved” means that It makes less and less sense, if it ever did, to divide the world into HIV-positives (people living with HIV) and HIV-negatives (people who do not have HIV), because everyone has had, consciously or unconsciously, and to varying degrees of proximity, an experience of HIV in the reality of one's life encounters or in the imagination of one's fears.

The real difference today is made precisely by the assumption of collective, shared, community responsibility., so we say a firm no to "the poisoned wall of silence, fear, and denial" and we take advantage of all the prevention tools available today that allow us to "enjoy life and sex." Even with HIV, to avoid new infections.

Because the campaign also reiterates another concept that Arcigay has been promoting for some time: a person living with HIV and following a stable, effective therapy, with an undetectable viral load, does not transmit the virus. This aspect becomes not only a tool for preventing the spread of HIV, but also a powerful tool for liberating oneself from fear. Fear of infecting (for people with HIV) or of infection (for those who encounter people with HIV). In the campaign video, men living with HIV and men who do not have HIV reiterate this concept, assuming the desired collective responsibility.

The video, created by the creative agency Pavlov, was inspired by the campaign “The undetectables” by GMFA of the United Kingdom and involved volunteers from Arcigay Milan and Arcigay Verona.
