[:en]Libera Rugby Club Roma
The rugby world isn't particularly homophobic, but rugby is often portrayed as a sport for "real" men, contributing to an overly macho image. This could deter many young men from choosing rugby as a sport. That's why we decided to create a team: we sense there's a lot of interest in rugby among Rome's gay community, but very few young men actually belong to a rugby team. We want to offer gay men and their friends the opportunity to start playing rugby in a prejudice-free environment, regardless of their sexual orientation.
