#TDOV2025 – Visible, proud, resistant

Today, March 31st, we celebrate trans visibility and pride at a time when our lives are under attack. We see it in the policies that exclude us, in the toxic anti-trans narratives that paint us as a threat, in the misinformation on social media, where hatred grows more violent every day.

But we exist and we resist all of this.

Being visible as transgender and non-binary people is a political act. It's how we reclaim our space and fight marginalization.

Transgender and non-binary people are everywhere: in sports, art, politics, culture, the world of work, healthcare, schools, and in the families where we are parents or children. Talking about ourselves and our lives means being countercultural and breaking the silence imposed by those who would erase us, psychiatrize us, or construct an imagery in which we are merely a theory or ideology. We rebel against all this by putting our faces out there with pride and euphoria!

We know well that trans visibility in a society like this still comes with a high price to pay. Choosing to be visible is not easy, and sometimes it is a great privilege.

Just recently, a member of our community took her own life after being inundated with hate on social media for coming out as non-binary. This is a defeat for society as a whole; we don't want to live in a world that makes us feel like we're broken. We will continue to fight for a society where we can express ourselves without being killed by hate.

We will not disappear.

We are here, we have always been here, there are many of us, we support each other and we will continue to be here and take back our spaces.

We exist, we resist and we will not stop!
