XIV National Congress of Arcigay

The 14th National Congress of Arcigay has been called, which will take place on the following days November 23, 24, and 25, 2012 in Ferrara.

The Congresses of the Provincial Committees and the Assembly of the Affiliated Associations must be held between September 1st
2012 to October 30, 2012.

The distribution of materials and the presentation of the Rainbow project, of which Arcigay is a partner, will require the participation of a representative from each Provincial Committee.

The meeting on homosexuality and migrants aims to bring together various delegates interested in discussing and exploring these issues.

Provincial Congresses

1. No later than August 31, 2012 all provincial committees will have to communicate to the national secretariat ([email protected]) and to the National Board of Guarantors ([email protected]) the convocation of the Provincial Congresses which must be held between 1 SEPTEMBER and 30 OCTOBER 2012.

2. The convocation of the Provincial Congress must be given the widest possible publicity, both at the Committee's registered office and on its websites (mandatory if you have one), on its Facebook profiles, and at affiliated associations within the relevant territory within the timeframe established by the Provincial Statutes and in any case at least 30 days in advance.

3. The convocation of the Provincial Congress must be made in first and second convocation (facsimile of convocation of provincial congress). It is advisable to allow 24 hours between the first and second call, although this is not mandatory. Those who have already called provincial congresses may send a copy of their own call. In any case, the notice must include at least the illustration of the motions, the vote on the motions, the election of the delegates to the National Congress.

4. It is mandatory to invite representatives of the motion(s) or to read them at the Provincial Congress. Please send them to the following address: [email protected], preferably at the same time as the notice, whether or not to invite the representatives of the Motions so as to be able to notify them in advance. It is also necessary to submit the Motions to a formal vote by the Provincial Congress.

5. All congress minutes must be received (two copies) by November 1st at the Arcigay National Office – Via Don Minzoni, 18 – 4012 BOLOGNA. The minutes must be prepared on the form MINUTES OF THE PROVINCIAL CONGRESS in triplicate (one copy remains with the Provincial Committee, one copy for the National Secretariat and one for the National Board of Guarantors).

6. The number of delegates It is established by the table at this link. Alternates may also be elected. Substitutions at the National Congress are not permitted other than those indicated in the minutes of the Provincial Congress. All members who are up-to-date with their membership dues at the opening of the provincial congress have the right to vote and be a candidate at provincial congresses. Under no circumstances may a delegated member's candidacy be excluded due to the lack of prior signature by other members.

7. The Provincial Committees must propose their own National Councilors who will be elected at the National Congress. There is no pre-established method for nominating these members, which can therefore be nominated by the Provincial Congresses or the Boards of Directors. In any case, we request that the names be submitted with the relevant minutes (if elected by the Provincial Congress, using the specific section within the Minutes, or by sending a copy of the Board of Directors' Minutes duly signed by the President and the person taking the minutes of the meeting) by November 1st to the National Secretariat and the National Board of Guarantors, along with the Provincial Congress Minutes.
