HIV: 5 Ways to Count
Arcigay's 2020 World AIDS Day campaign
Stopping HIV today is possible.
In the fight against HIV, we can all make a difference, for ourselves and for others.
We have at least 5 effective ways to count:
- LEARN about what HIV is today, how the epidemic is changing and about scientific and medical advances in treatment and prevention, such as the U=U principle, i.e. the fact that people with HIV and undetectable viremia do not transmit the virus
- TALK ABOUT IT, open interpersonal and community dialogues, to break down taboos related to HIV and sexual health in general and to break down the stigma that still surrounds people with HIV and those most at risk of infection
- PROTECT YOURSELF by choosing the most appropriate means for your needs: condoms and lubricant, femidom, PrEP, TasP, PEP, prevention has many faces these days and we can choose!
- TESTING is a simple, routine practice that benefits both you and the collective effort to eliminate HIV from circulation. Even a positive result allows you to take the bull by the horns through treatment, ensuring a healthy life for yourself and effective protection for others!
- TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF, not only with the correct use of therapy if you have HIV, but more generally with awareness of your needs relating to sexual well-being
