The "Week Against Violence" concludes tomorrow, Saturday the 15th, in all schools of all levels. Sponsored for the third consecutive year by the Ministry for Equal Opportunities and the Ministry of Education, the initiative aims to raise awareness among students, teachers, and parents about preventing and combating all forms of discrimination and violence.
The ACLI participated in the "Week against violence" together with Fisc, Telefono Azzurro, Telefono Rosa, Arcigay and Agedo. Initiatives, meetings, and "lessons on respect" were organized to help spread a culture of understanding and valuing differences and protecting vulnerable people. Areas of intervention included bullying, homophobia, gender discrimination, and discrimination against people with disabilities. ACLI, in particular, addressed racial and religious intolerance.
The project aims to promote the construction of a local network of schools active in the fight against violence and all forms of discrimination, which can interface with the networks of UNAR, the national anti-discrimination office, and the organizations involved.
«"Family, school, civil society, and institutions," explains Andrea Olivero, national president of ACLI, "can and must work together to build an educational community, following an integrated approach that helps children grow according to the values of coexistence, respect, and solidarity. The educational task is fundamental and falls to everyone; no one can be exempt from this responsibility.".
