Sixty marches in five months, millions of people in the streets. Piazzoni: "Even in dark times, pride never fades."“
Rome, September 27, 2025 – The 2025 Pride Wave, which began in April, concludes today with two major parades that will bring the rainbow to Lombardy and Veneto. Brianza Pride will take place in Arcore, meeting at 3:00 PM in Piazza dei Martiri, while Belluno Pride will begin at 2:00 PM in Piazzale della Stazione. These two events symbolically close out an extraordinary season, which has seen 60 Pride events fill Italy's squares with millions of participants.
Confirming the association's central role, Rome is hosting Forty Queer, the party-event celebrating Arcigay's 40th anniversary, until tomorrow, with activists from all over Italy.
«"The 2025 Pride Wave was historic," said Gabriele Piazzoni, Arcigay Secretary General. "Sixty marches filled the city with color, voices, and happiness, despite an increasingly hostile political and social context. Millions of people walked freely, self-determined, demonstrating that our community is more alive than ever. Even in dark times like these, our pride doesn't fade, it multiplies. And while today we celebrate in the streets, in Rome Forty Queer commemorates Arcigay's 40 years of commitment: an ideal bridge between the battles of yesterday and the vitality of today.".
