Arcigay opposes the new Lazio law on families announced by Storace.

The changes announced by Storace to the family law approved by the Lazio Region in October 1999 represent the prevalence of a liberticidal ideology over the need for concrete assistance to families.

It's worth remembering that the law Badaloni pushed does not specifically favor de facto couples, whether homosexual or heterosexual, but rather limits its scope to families where there are third parties in care (children, elderly parents). Only in this case does the law, as would be obvious in a civilized country, make no distinction between married and unmarried couples, nor does it discriminate against couples based on their sexual orientation.

Last April, Storace had already announced the change to the law, citing an explicit motivation: to avoid paying for "the vices of those who are different" with the money of the citizens of Lazio.

Thus, blinded by his usual ideological and homophobic fury, the product of a liberticidal tradition, Storace denies the Lazio Region's support to a significant portion of Lazio families, especially the children and elderly parents of cohabiting couples, "guilty" of not conforming to the President of the Region's ethical model.

The fight against "different" people overturns the principles of good governance. We are faced with an aberrant conception of institutions, used as instruments of ideological crusade, rather than as a means of governing citizens' needs.
