“"The Margherita Party should not sell its soul to the CEI: it should not give up being a force in which believers and those who do not confront the secular nature of political action"”, this is the warning with which the national president of Arcigay, Sergio Lo Giudice, reacts to the latest attempt by Margherita to boycott the legal recognition of PACS (Civil Solidarity Pacts).

“If today the last acceptable mediation on civil unions were to fail — continues Lo Giudice – Francesco Rutelli's party would take on a very serious political responsibility: that of undermine the foundations of the Union with a principle of submission to a religious power external to the institutions of the Republic. This would happen at the expense of the fundamental rights of millions of citizens, rights solemnly enshrined in the European Treaties."

“We will be in Rome on Saturday at Union Convention, to celebrate together the launch of a European coalition or to contest a program whose balance is based on contempt for human and civil rights"”.
