Arcigay: The mayor is a good example, but now a signal about the fight against homophobia is needed.

MILAN: "Pisapia's radio statements on the anniversary of his electoral victory are an expression of the approach adopted by an administration that is aware that it is accountable to the voters and works for the good of all citizens, not for the sake of dogma or partial beliefs, or for the arrival of illustrious guests. We reiterate our belief that the family is a human, not divine, institution, and therefore the regulations governing it must reflect cultural, historical, and anthropological evolution, not the will of a religious denomination." This is according to a statement from Arcigay Milan, which continues: "Remembering the commitments made with the determination to fulfill them, especially two days after Professor Ratzinger's arrival, is a sign of consistency and independence that is not to be taken for granted, given the average Italian politician. While we wait for the City Council process to take its course, we ask to be able to formalize targeted interventions to combat homophobia and provide support to those attacked for homophobic reasons, a truly long-standing emergency.
