Arcigay, il tesseramento e il circuito ricreativo

Prompted by a series of reports from members regarding the creation of a new circuit, called ONE PASS CLUB, and the joining of some organizations previously known as part of Arcigay, we would like to clarify the following to avoid any misunderstandings:

– Arcigay is a national association structured territorially into provincial committees, which carry out political and cultural activities and provide services and support to LGBT people and the community, to which some recreational, sporting or socialisation associations are affiliated which use the Arcigay name and brand and act as registration desks on behalf of Arcigay itself and which all Arcigay card holders can access (by virtue of the circularity of the Arcigay membership card);

– the recreational network affiliated with Arcigay remains active and operational, as does the validity of membership cards and their circulation among all affiliated recreational associations;

– the new proposed card, issued on behalf of another organisation whose aims we do not yet fully understand, does NOT replace the Arcigay card but is a complement to this one alternative;

– No association affiliated with Arcigay has the right to deny, except for limited and justified reasons, the issuance or renewal of an Arcigay membership card to anyone requesting it. Arcigay is required to request all necessary information upon joining a new association, including presentation of an identity document and signing the privacy policy. Arcigay is obviously not responsible for this processing;

– Not all Arcigay recreational associations are affiliated with the new circuit, therefore the ONE PASS ALL CLUB card does not allow access to the entire Arcigay Circuit, for which a valid Arcigay membership card is required.

If you are asked not to renew your Arcigay membership card and replace it with a new one, please remember the following information:

– the ONE PASS ALL CLUB circuit is something else, an alternative to Arcigay.

-the ONE PASS ALL CLUB card, being from another association, does not allow you to enjoy the rights guaranteed by the statute to all Arcigay members;

Currently, according to the affiliation agreements, 80% of the €15 Arcigay membership fee paid to an affiliated association remains with the same association that collected it. The remainder should be paid to the National Association for statutory activities. However, this has not always been the case, so much so that over the last 10 years, several amnesties or cancellations of Arcigay's dues (in other words, part of your €15) have been requested, which have therefore remained entirely available to some of these affiliated associations. To avoid further reversals and despite the ongoing "disorder," following a resolution of the National Council, at the suggestion of the National Secretariat, a review of compliance with the affiliation agreements has been underway for some time. This carries the risk that some affiliations may be suspended and, in the event of persistent arrears, revoked.

– Fees paid to Arcigay provincial committees remain entirely at Arcigay's disposal, partly to the provincial committee that collected them and partly to Arcigay national for institutional activities and services. The provincial committees, democratically animated and managed through the voluntary work of volunteers, independently manage the many initiatives in the area;

– Arcigay's national share of the membership fee is used for representation and lobbying, support, training, and promotion of the provincial committees, as well as for the ordinary management and implementation of awareness and information campaigns, initiatives, events, conventions, publications, and conferences, and for the purchase and distribution of prevention and prophylaxis materials;

The fee paid to the ONE PASS ALL CLUB circuit is in no way connected to Arcigay, does not finance any of its activities and finances a circuit over which Arcigay has no responsibility, no control and, at the moment, limited knowledge;

– It is therefore quite clear that if Arcigay cannot continue to benefit from the financial support of its members, many activities, both locally and nationally, will no longer be possible.

Whether or not you renew your Arcigay membership card, and thus whether or not to support the Association, is up to you. Freely, but consciously.

We therefore take the liberty of inviting you to register or renew your membership at the headquarters of a provincial Arcigay Committee, and to continue to prefer the winged Pegasus to a new enterprise whose aims are not yet known.
