“"Ask Us": Free Psychological Consultations in Syracuse

A new service, "Ask Us," was born from a collaboration between Arcigay Siracusa and the medical practice of Dr. Maria Vittoria Zaccagnini. This free psychological counseling service aims to provide answers to questions and concerns regarding gender identity and sexual orientation. The service can be accessed by writing to: [email protected] .
“"Homosexuality," explain the activists of Arcigay Siracusa, "is a way of being, not a choice. There is no right or wrong way, but there is a peaceful way to live it. With the benefit of the online help desk, we try to put parents of homosexual children at ease. A journey of growth and enrichment; a gay child is certainly not a mistake, but a child. We just need to understand the best way to love and support them on this journey, where today's society doesn't help them feel free and be themselves.".
Arcigay Siracusa is also organizing a painting and photography exhibition called "Anime Libere" for July 17th at 7 pm at the Syracusan restaurant "Estia" located in Ortigia. The artist on display, the organizers explain, "is one of our very young members: Alessandro Vinci, 18, who has just graduated from the Art School with top marks. Through art, he will autobiographically recount the discovery of his homosexuality, his courage, and the acceptance of his own "being" in the face of the harsh conditions of a hostile society." .
Finally, the Municipality of Syracuse is collaborating with Arcigay Siracusa to establish the Register of Civil Unions: “We have already written and submitted the bill that will soon be presented to the City Council by the mayor”. .
