Following the rejection by the Evaluation Committee of the popular initiative resolution for the protection of de facto families, the Coordination of New Families with Equal Rights wishes to relaunch its action in the Brescia area through a demonstration that will be held
Saturday, March 15th at 4pm
at Piazza Vittoria in Brescia
On the same date, but in a different square, the Catholic fundamentalist group Sentinelle in piedi will demonstrate in Brescia AGAINST the anti-homophobia law, AGAINST de facto families, AGAINST same-sex families, and AGAINST the civil and social progress of our nation.
Instead, we will be in the square FOR the extension of everyone's rights, FOR the social inclusion of all types of families, FOR emotional self-determination, FOR the full application of the constitutional dictate of the substantive equality of every citizen before the law.
The demonstration will gather at 4:00 PM in Piazza Vittoria, followed by a press conference at 4:30 PM. The New Families Equal Rights coordination group will outline new initiatives aimed at ensuring that the Municipality of Brescia recognizes and protects heterosexual and homosexual de facto families, ensuring equal access to municipal services as marital families, and supporting new family structures. A signature drive will follow.
We invite the press, associations, movements, parties and all citizens who believe in a democratic, secular, participatory and inclusive city to take to the streets with us and take part in this popular initiative in favour of civil rights and a city tailored to those who live in it.
