[:en]On June 21st we launched the "Viterbo in Color" is a platform for LGBT+ rights.“ (link) asking the two candidates for the seat of Mayor of the City of Viterbo, Dr. Chiara Frontini and Dr. Alessandra Troncarelli to send us their formal consent to it.
The doctor Alessandra Troncarelli, Councillor for Social Policies of the Lazio Region, sent a letter of adhesion on 22 June, in which she declares that «for the political administrative path that I have pursued up to now, being close to people with specific protection needs […] is not only practice, but the firm will that drives my action»". The candidate also added "«We propose now to set up a working group with associations representing the LGBT+ community. […]. We will work towards the approval of a regulation that can protect and safeguard the different areas of the individual's life.»"This formal membership therefore represents an important milestone for the Viterbo LGBT+ community, which we, as an Association, feel compelled to make public. We therefore applaud the membership and the commitment already expressed to the LGBT+ community of Viterbo, and we sincerely thank them for their support during this turbulent pre-election period.
From Dr. Chiara Frontini However, we have not received a response. We sincerely regret this as we were hoping for a response. bipartisan to what is, in effect, a pure and simple proposal for civility and progress for the LGBT+ community, but more generally for the entire community of Viterbo. This failure by one of the two candidates can only confirm how necessary it is to persist and fight for the sacrosanct demands of the Viterbo LGBT+ community.
In conclusion, a note for both candidates: we sincerely hope that the first act of the winner will be to grant the patronage – which has not yet been received – of the Municipality of Viterbo to Lazio Pride which will be held in the city on July 9th.[:]
