CAMOCU FEST – THE FESTIVAL FOR A LIVELY, CURIOUS, AND OPEN-TO-THE-WORLD CASORIA

Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th December, in the Casoria Library, the first edition of the CAMOCU Fest – Casoria World Cultures, the festival dedicated to intercultural dialogue, creativity and community participation, organized by Municipality of Casoria, Cantiere Giovani, Comunica Sociale, and Antinoo Arcigay Naples in collaboration with local associations.

The name CAMOCU — acronym for Casoria · World · Cultures —expresses the initiative's mission: to build a bridge between the city's roots and the world's many cultures, through a shared journey of art, music, flavors, encounters, and participation.

For two days the Library will be transformed into a large, widespread cultural space: outside, multicultural stands with tastings from around the world, music, dance and performances; within, exhibitions, conferences, screenings, contests and activities dedicated to the discovery of the territory and the comparison between different cultures.

It starts on Saturday 6 December at 5.00 pm with the opening of the stands dedicated to 4 continents (Europe, Asia, Africa and America). immersive journey It will engage the public through all five senses, with visual and olfactory stimuli, tastings of traditional dishes, music, and stories that will allow them to experience different cultures through a virtual journey guided by people from different countries. Inside the Library, the film "Biblioteca Viva" will be screened, featuring testimonies from Casoria residents who describe a vibrant and welcoming area.

At 6.00 pm, the meeting “Youth, Culture and Welfare”, a comparison between institutions, young people and the third sector, where the following will intervene: Raffaele Bene Mayor of Casoria, Gaetano Palumbo councilor for culture, Salvatore Iavarone councilor for social policies, Francesco Palmieri, head of the national youth network Si può Fare, who will talk with young people and representatives of youth and social associations in the area.

Following, from 7.00 pm, start of the dance, martial arts and theatre performances Organized by the city's sports and cultural associations. At 7:30 pm, the intercultural buffet will open and food tasting of the world.

On Sunday, December 7th, there's space for the little ones from 10:00 am with a program of activities just for them: CAMOCU Kids, a drawing contest, and creative and artistic workshops to experience and imagine a Casoria open to world cultures.

Starting at 1:00 PM, tastings from around the world will continue at 3:30 PM with CIAK – Casoria International ArtKafé, featuring music, performances, and readings by international authors. This symposium, organized by the Casoria ProLoco, will explore literature as a starting point for poetic reflections on places and stories to discover.

At 4:30 pm, the performances by the city's sports and cultural associations resume.

Finally, the two evenings of the Festival will be animated by musical bands from 4 continents: Gunà, percussion from West Gambia, Grupo Muzenza, Capoeira from Brazil, Stevic Sava, melodies from the Balkans, Robertinho Bastos, rhythms from Brazil and La Scuderia dei Rappers, bars from northern Naples.

The festival is organized by the Municipality of Casoria Department of Culture, Youth Construction Site, Social Communication, Antinoo Arcigay Naples in collaboration with Casoria Proloco, Dadaa Ghezo, Astalli South Center, Brazil, Red Shoes, Fragments of art, InArt, Kasoria Kombat and Fly, Russian Kick Boxing Team, Youth Forum, AIAS., Casoria Volleyball, The Mothers of Arpino, Young Synergies, Red Cross Committee of Naples North, Civil Protection Le Aquile headquarters in Casoria.
