Casoria opens its doors to the CAMOCU Fest: the queer world at the center of intercultural dialogue.

  

Saturday, December 6th and Sunday, December 7th at the Library: culture, music, and inclusion. Focus on LGBTQ+ voices with Radio Pride and the photography exhibition "There's No Single Way to Be.".

CASORIA – The Casoria Library is preparing to become a 360-degree laboratory for inclusion. Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th December the first edition of the CAMOCU Fest – Casoria World Cultures, the festival that unites local roots with global cultures. Among the protagonists of this great celebration of dialogue and exchange is our association, Antinoo Arcigay Naples, co-organizer of the event, which will enrich the festival by bringing to the square the themes, stories and art of Queer world.

The event was born from the synergy between the Municipality of Casoria, Youth Construction Site, Social Communication and the LGBTQ+ rights association, with the aim of transforming the city into a bridge between different peoples and identities.

Queer Initiatives: Radio Pride and Art

Antinoo Arcigay Napoli's contribution will run through both days of the festival, offering food for thought on the freedom to be oneself:

  • Saturday, December 6th: The association's volunteers will be present with Radio Pride, a media station that will broadcast live the voices, sounds, and testimonies of the event, amplifying the festival's message of welcome.

  • Sunday, December 7th: Space for visual art with the exhibition “There's no single way to be” of the artist Savior, proposed by the association Discovery Queer. An exhibition dedicated to the Neapolitan queer world that celebrates the plurality of identities, accompanied by artistic workshops curated by the association.

The Festival: a sensory journey across 4 continents

In addition to the focus on rights, the CAMOCU (acronym for Casoria · World · Cultures) will transform the Library into a widespread cultural space. Outside, stands dedicated to Europe, Asia, Africa and America They will offer an immersive journey through the five senses: tastings of typical dishes, aromas, music, and stories told by those who come from those countries.

The Program: institutions, young people, art and entertainment

We're off Saturday at 5:00 PM with the opening of the stands. At 18:00 the institutional talk is planned “Youth, Culture and Welfare” with the Mayor Raffaele Bene, the councilors Gaetano Palumbo And Salvatore Iavarone, And Francesco Palmieri of the Network It can be done, for a discussion with local youth. The evening will continue with dance and martial arts performances, and, starting at 7:30 PM, an intercultural buffet.

Sunday 7th opens at 10:00 with CAMOCU Kids (workshops for children) and continues in the afternoon, from 3.30pm, with the CIAK – Casoria International ArtKafé, a literary and musical symposium organized by ProLoco.

The two evenings will be heated by international rhythms:

  • Guna (Percussion from West Gambia)

  • Grupo Muzenza and Robertinho Bastos (Capoeira and music from Brazil)

  • Stevic Sava (Melodies from the Balkans)

  • The Rappers' Stable (Hip-Hop from North Naples)

The festival, in Free admission, sees the collaboration of a dense network of associative realities including Dadaa Ghezo, Centro Astalli Sud, Brasilidade, Red Shoes, Fragments of Art, InArte, Youth Forum, Red Cross Naples North, Civil Protection Eagles and many more.
