AND Claudio Finelli, a Neapolitan born in 1973, is the new head of culture for Arcigay, identified by the national secretariat led by Gabriele Piazzoni.
Claudio, a teacher of literature and Latin at the Caccioppoli State Scientific High School in Naples, is a former culture delegate for the Arcigay Antinoo board of directors in Naples, President of the Arcigay Campania Region Coordination, national representative for UilScuola within the Rights Coordination Committee, and a UilScuola member of the Uil Equal Opportunities Commission.
He collaborates with the Nuovo Teatro Sanità in Naples, directed by the writer and director Mario Gelardi. He is a literary critic for the Italian edition of Le Monde Diplomatique, a theater critic for Corrierespettacolo, and collaborates with Gayburg and, occasionally, with Gay.it and the radical newspaper Il Fiore Uomosolidale. Since May 2015, he has run his own LGBT culture blog on campaniasuweb: PrideTime. He writes columns for periodicals and radio programs; since April 2016, he has hosted the radio program L'Altra Frequenza – LGBT On Air, which airs every Monday from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM on Radio Amore Napoli (90.80FM or streaming at www.radioamorenapoli.it). He is the creator and artistic director of various cultural events (poetry, fiction, theater, music) against discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, including Poetè, a series of poetry readings held since the fall of 2009 at the Chiaja Hotel De Charme in Naples. He was also co-director of the first edition of the Kju: Festival, the first queer culture festival organized in Campania in June 2016. He is the author of poems and plays and edited the volume “Se stiamo insieme, anthologia di racconti sulla coppia di fatto”, published by Caracò.
In assigning the culture delegation to Claudio Finelli, the national secretariat of Arcigay also confirmed three other external delegations: Giorgio Dell'Amico for the Migrants and Asylum Seekers sector, Antonello Sannino to Sport and Marco Reglia to Memory.
