Lesbian Visibility Day, April 26, 2026

On the occasion of the International Lesbian Visibility Day (April 26), Arcigay Rete Donne Transfemminista invites you to participate in “Unexpected: Lesbian Advocacy* Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow”. The virtual workshop will take place on Tuesday, April 28, at 8:30 PM, on Google Meet.

The meeting will explore the meanings of lesbian visibility within a reflection on transfeminist lesbian advocacy as a transformative socio-cultural and political practice.

Michela Calabrò, Angelica Polmonari, and Letizia Vaccarella will facilitate the workshop, drawing on the activism of Arcigay's Transfeminist Women's Network, with a particular focus on the recent project "Let us Be AdvoQueers.".

We will discuss advocacy as a concrete tool for impacting social and political processes, through which visibility can be centralized to promoting structural change. We will explore tools, strategies, and practices of lesbian, trans, and feminist advocacy from yesterday, today, and tomorrow, with a direct look at future prospects and opportunities for action in local communities.
