Friday, January 30th Antinoo Arcigay Naples, Keshet Italy And Discovery Queer They're launching the "MEMORIE" event. A plaque and a discussion to transform memory into an antidote to hatred.
Naples, January 26, 2026 – Memory is not only a duty, but a civil right: the right to know what happened to prevent history from repeating itself. On the occasion of the celebrations for the Holocaust Remembrance Day 2026, the association Antinoo Arcigay Naples, together with Keshet Italy And Discovery Queer invites citizens to a moment of profound historical and civic reflection.
The event, titled “MEMORIES”, will be held Friday, January 30, 2026 at the headquarters of Antinoo Arcigay Naples in Vico San Geronimo, 17-20.
The initiative was born with the aim of shining a light on an often forgotten page in the history of deportations: the persecution of homosexual people, all LGBTQIA+ people, and women considered "asocial" in concentration camps, but also to reflect and update Primo Levi's message: “If understanding is impossible, knowing is necessary, because what has happened can happen again.”. At a time when new winds of intolerance and war are blowing across Europe and humanity as a whole, knowing the history of Nazi-Fascist persecution becomes an act of cultural and civil resistance more necessary than ever.
The day's program includes two significant moments:

4:00 PM – Installation of the “Pink Triangles and Black Triangles” plaque: A symbolic gesture to honor the memory of the deportees branded with the pink triangle (homosexual men) and the black triangle (a category that included “asocial” women, including many lesbians), victims of Nazi-Fascist ferocity.

5:00 PM – Meeting with the associations: An open debate which will see the participation of Keshet Italy (LGBTQ+ Jewish group), Discovery Queer And Antinoo Arcigay Naples.
The event represents an important opportunity for intersectional dialogue between the queer world and the Jewish community, united in the memory of all the victims of the Holocaust and the Holocaust.
