Silvio Raffo is a poet, writer, literary critic, and teacher.
Since the 1980s she has studied and translated the works of Emily Dickinson, starting with an anthology of the poet's poems published by Fergola in 1986.
The translation of Emily Dickinson's entire poetic corpus continues with two collections published by the Milanese publisher Crocetti (1988, 1993) and flows into the 1174 poems translated for the Meridiano Arnoldo Mondadori Editore dedicated to the American poet (Milan, 1997). Dickinson's study also led to the publication of an essay (The Bride of Terror) and a biography (I Am Nobody, The Letters, 2011). He is a translator and scholar of Anglo-American poetesses including, in addition to Dickinson, Emily Brontë, Charlotte Brontë, Anne Brontë, Christina Rossetti, Edna St. Vincent Millay, Dorothy Parker, Sara Teasdale, Wendy Cope. For Arnoldo Mondadori Editore he has brought back to print, after years of silence, the poems of Ada Negri (Arnoldo Mondadori Editore, 2002), And Sibilla Aleramo (Arnoldo Mondadori Editore, 2004)[4]. In the 2012 he edited the first re-edition of the poems and letters of the Turin poetess Amalia Guglielminetti, long forgotten. In 2013, together with Alessandra Cenni, he edited the most complete edition of the Milanese poet's works for the publisher Bietti. Antonia Pozzi, Slight offer.
During the meeting he will present: the essay I Am Nobody (Emily Dickinson's Life), The Letters, 2011; the novel The angels of the house, Elliot Edizioni, 2021; the collection of poems The Recluse's Notebook, Interno Libri Editore, 2021.
