PrevenGo is a service provided by Arcigay Palermo which aims to spread information and awareness about sexual well-being.
What do volunteers do?
Volunteers are adequately trained people able to provide correct and clear information about sex and sexuality during training days, information stands and testing days.
Furthermore, they will be able to actively participate in the planning and management of HIV and syphilis testing days.
How can I become a volunteer?
To become a volunteer, all you need to do is follow a 15-hour training course held by Arcigay Palermo.
The training will be structured as follows:
May 8th, 5-8pm
May 16, 5-8 pm
May 25, 5-8 pm
May 27, 10am-5pm
The course will be in mixed mode between the Arcigay Palermo headquarters (Via della Rosa alla gioiamia, 2, behind the Cathedral) and online on Google Meet.
The topics covered will be:
The foundations of sexual identities, inclusive language and communication, genital anatomy, sexually transmitted infections, prevention, community-based testing, pre- and post-test counseling, privacy, how to communicate the results, connections with health services, simulations.
