This morning, Paolo Patanè, national president of Arcigay, and Valerio Barbini, president of Arcigay Genova, met with Lorena Rambaudi, regional councilor for equal opportunities for the Liguria region.
During the cordial and positive meeting, Arcigay's complaint to the Ligurian Order of Psychologists condemning homosexual conversion therapy was made public.
The association then made available to political parties, council groups, and regional councilors the text of a regional question. The question urges the Regional Council to condemn "all attempts to consider homosexuality an illness and actions undertaken to change people's sexual orientation" and "whether the region intends to immediately cease all forms of collaboration and funding" with counseling centers that offer, as implied by Monsignor Paolo Rigon, conversion therapy for homosexuals, lesbians, and transgender people.
During the day, the national president of Arcigay will meet with Don Gallo to thank him for the statements he has made in recent days and the support he has shown towards LGBT associations.
