Arcigay is experiencing with great apprehension and anguish the fate of the four gay men, Sahadat Arefi, Javid Akbari, Hushmand Akbari, and Vahid Akbari, sentenced to death in Iran. I appeal to our Government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and all European institutions and international, religious, and humanitarian organizations to intervene in every way possible to save the lives of these young men.
I believe public opinion doesn't want to look the other way: no one can do so, faced with the fate of four young men condemned to hang for their identity. One cannot have to pay for one's nature with one's life.
