[:it]Pillon Bill, Arcigay in the square tomorrow for the withdrawal: "A sexist, classist and homophobic proposal"[:]

Bologna, November 9, 2018 Arcigay is also joining the demonstration that will occupy more than 50 squares across Italy tomorrow to demand the withdrawal of the Pillon bill on shared custody. "With conviction," explains the national secretary, "tomorrow we will take to the streets together with the associations that organized the protest against the ill-fated Pillon bill on shared custody. Contrary to what Deputy Prime Minister Di Maio claims, no change can make that text acceptable: the proposal is an expression of a misogynistic, classist, and homophobic culture and must absolutely be withdrawn. It is an attempt by a reactionary right to prevent divorce and undermine the rights of women, especially mothers. Not only that, the measure undermines the role of judges and preemptively regulates issues that, when applied to real life, are full of distinctions and differences that cannot and must not be ignored. Nor can male violence against women be ignored, an alarming phenomenon in our country and one that the Pillon bill addresses in a reckless manner, exposing women even more to their tormentors. Finally, we cannot fail to note that the reiteration of the terms "mother" and "father" in the text takes us a huge step backwards. "Returning parenthood to the exclusive realm of heterosexual couples and erasing the reality, even before the possibility, of same-sex families. That text, in short, is a disaster and as such must absolutely be revoked," concludes Piazzoni.
