Bologna, February 7, 2018 – “The serious threats directed at Tommaso Cerno on social networks are yet another symptom of a toxic climate that absolutely cannot be tolerated,” declared Gabriele Piazzoni, national secretary of Arcigay. He continues: "While expressing our full solidarity with the Democratic candidate, we feel the urgency to appeal to all forces that care about democracy to unequivocally reject the violence we see strategically being injected into this election season. Arcigay has already pledged its support for the demonstration that the National Association of Gay and Lesbian Partisans (ANPI) has called for Saturday, February 10th in Macerata, following the serious act of terrorism that affected the city, to express the entire country's solidarity with the victims. We hope that this demonstration will be an unmissable opportunity for the democratic forces of this country to send a strong signal to those who exploit fear and inject violence. At stake is the recognition of the founding values of our Constitution, which come before any electoral race: and on those values," Piazzoni concludes, "no ambiguity is tolerable.".
