Malena and the Sea by Marian Pessah
translation from Spanish by Marco Sbandi

Marian Pessah was born in Argentina in 1968. Her main artistic activity is photography. She has written several essays on feminism and lesbianism, and this is her first novella.

The short story, written in the form of a conversation with a friend, narrates the journey of a girl towards the affirmation of one's sexual and artistic identity. It's a very pleasant and romantic story in which many girls who don't accept the stereotypes that society wants to impose on them can recognize themselves.

Writing as Witness by Beth Brant
translation by Marco Sbandi
Publisher 7 Mari – Naples

Beth Brant was born in 1941 to a Mohawk Tiendinaga family and a Polish-Anglo-Saxon family.

He began writing at the age of 40 and reclaiming her Mohawk and Lesbian identity by collecting the works of other Native and Lesbian writers and honing the tools for an incisive critical analysis of cultural colonialism, which has sought and continues to seek to destroy its dual identity by fueling self-loathing and homophobia among Native Nations. This cultural colonialism has seen and continues to see the Catholic Church and various Christian churches as its protagonists.

The author alternates autobiographical narrative with a reclamation of her people's memory, and also reintroduces the figure of Pocahontas as a pioneering pacifist diplomat. A gripping read that provides endless food for thought.
