*LGBTI, SECOND WEEKEND OF THE WAVE PRIDE: TOMORROW PROTESTS IN VERONA, BERGAMO, AND TARANTO* *Bologna, May 17, 2019* – After kicking off last Saturday in Vercelli, the second leg of the Wave Pride, the large-scale Pride demonstration organized by Arcigay and other LGBTI associations, arrives. On the weekend of the International Day Against Homophobia, Verona Pride will take to the streets tomorrow, meeting at 3:00 PM at Porta Nuova Station; Taranto Pride will gather at 4:30 PM on Via Salinella; and Bergamo Pride will depart from Via Bonomelli at 3:00 PM. "The long season of pride is still just beginning," comments Gabriele Piazzoni, Secretary General of Arcigay, "but it's already reaching one of its symbolic peaks coinciding with the International Day Against Homotransphobia. Because the best response to hatred is our pride, strong and stubborn, which has brought about extraordinary transformations, unimaginable 50 years ago, when the Stonewall riots sparked our revolution. In this sense, the parade in the city of Verona, which just two months ago hosted one of the most homophobic events ever organized in our country, has a particularly symbolic value. Tomorrow, Verona will be a different city: open, inclusive, and supportive. And so will Bergamo and Taranto: from the streets and squares, our battle is rekindled," he concludes.
