[:en]June is #PrideMonth, Pride Month, celebrated internationally in memory of the Stonewall Riots, the uprising that brought thousands of people to the streets in America in June 1969 to demand gay rights. We're celebrating the start of this month by announcing the spokespeople for Ragusa Pride 2023.
Differences, Uniqueness, Beauty is the slogan of Ragusa Pride 2023. Following the success of the first Ragusa Pride in 2022, Agedo Ragusa, Arcigay Ragusa, Katastolè Prospettive, and UAAR Ragusa are working on Ragusa Pride 2023, which will take place on June 29th and 30th in Ragusa and on July 1st in Marina di Ragusa, with the final parade. Preparations have been underway for months, with numerous events planned throughout the province to promote Pride and create a safe network throughout the area, made up of people and places that welcome and do not discriminate against all forms of diversity and uniqueness.
On May 12th, Arcigay National President Natascia Maesi was in Ragusa, supporting Italy's southernmost Pride parade, for a discussion on some key words for the LGBTQIA+ community, which we would like to see incorporated into our daily vocabulary.
Among the most debated topics this year, Rainbow Families certainly rank high: they have been subjected to numerous attacks by the government, and civil society and many local governments have responded quickly. For this reason, Ragusa Pride has chosen a family as its spokesperson, a beautiful family, who are sharing their story through social media.

Fathers by choice will be with us for the entire Ragusa Pride and will be protagonists of the July 1st Parade.
We can't wait to meet them and reflect together, listening to their stories of love, awareness, and obstacles yet to be overcome.
