Susi Mennella will be the artistic director of Vesuvio Pride 2025 in Castellammare di Stabia.

The Vesuvius Pride announces an artistic turning point for its sixth edition: it will be Susi Mennella the Artistic Director of the highly anticipated parade that will color the streets of Castellammare di Stabia on September 20th.

The association Vesuvius Pride, the event's promoter, continues its commitment to bringing the concerns of the LGBTQIA+ community to the heart of southern Italian cities. After historic stops in Pompeii (2018), Sorrento (2019), Torre Annunziata (2022), Scafati (2023), and the latest edition in Torre del Greco in 2024, the traveling Vesuvian Pride arrives in Castellammare di Stabia for the first time and has chosen a prominent figure, recognized locally, to curate its artistic soul.

Mennella's choice, deeply rooted in the region, promises a deeply rooted, powerful, and meaningful edition. His words clearly express the vision that will guide the event: "“"Being chosen as artistic director of the Castellammare di Stabia Pride, scheduled for September 20th, is a source of great pride and profound responsibility for me," says Susi Mennella. "Bringing such an important event to my homeland has a value that goes beyond cultural programming: it is an act of love, of giving back, and of resistance. I feel the need to express, through art and performance, the beauty of identities, the power of differences, and the freedom of bodies. It will be a living, visceral, collective Pride. A Pride that speaks, that embraces, and that fights. In a time when hatred is once again making itself heard, we respond with culture and presence. And we do so from the heart of the South, where every victory weighs twice as much and shines three times as bright."”

With this appointment, Vesuvius Pride 2025 is preparing to be not only a great demonstration of pride and vindication, but also an important cultural event, strongly supported by the municipal administration, a wave of art and resistance that will cross Castellammare di Stabia. The appointment is set for the September 20.
