Sunday 13 May from 10.45 am it will be held at the Arcigay headquarters of Modena in via 4 novembre 40/a there “Mothers' Day” promoted by AGEDO (Association of Parents of Homosexuals), Rainbow Families, Rainbow Parents Network (LGBT parents from previous straight relationships)
The choice to organize this day was born from the fact, the parents of the child remember’Agedo, “that there are no different children and from the desire to have equal opportunities and equal rights for all one's children, first in school and then in society.”
The traditional Mother's Day becomes today, in the plural, Mother's Day as recalled Rainbow Parents Network, meaning that "it can be a day to talk about motherhood in all its facets and colors, even those that are often not thought about on these occasions. In fact, there are many mothers who have discovered they are lesbians having already had children from previous heterosexual relationships, as well as many mothers who have found themselves faced with the true identity - homosexual or transsexual - of their partner. To these mothers (but also to fathers!) the association gives support, comparison and asclong, even in a completely anonymous form, to help you navigate these delicate transitions.”
Rainbow Families It is an association of homosexual parents (and aspiring parents) who "demand equal rights for their families, and therefore greater protection for their children. This meeting is an opportunity to raise awareness of the association, addressing both those who need to discuss their issues as stakeholders and those unfamiliar with the Rainbow Families movement. Spreading awareness of FA means paving the way for welcoming our children and promoting the need to educate about differences."“
To talk about these topics Arcigay Modena, Agedo, Rainbow Families and Rainbow Parents Network have invited the’Adriana Querzè, Councilor for Education of the Municipality of Modena, and they created this opportunity to celebrate and thank all mothers!
