I wish at this moment, it is my only wish, since I cannot mourn them, that a stranger's eye may shed a tear for my loved ones.

SALMEN GRADOWSKI

In Genoa, on Sunday 2 February, from 5:15 pm at the Albergo dei Poveri in Piazzale Emanuele Brignole 2, the travelling show of words, music and installations will take place “The Gray Zone”, organized by Arcigay Genova for Holocaust Remembrance Day 2020.

For the fourth consecutive year, our association is committed to presenting to the City of Genoa a reflection on the deportations carried out in Europe by the Nazi-Fascist regime, before and during the Second World War.

The growing sense that our society is once again forgetting the importance and value of the individual and of human life in its specificity and identity pushes us to return to the narratives that, in the post-World War II period, built awareness of what had happened. If this awareness hasn't been achieved, or perhaps has been partially lost, then it's important to start over again with strength. The play "The Grey Zone," titled after the second chapter of Primo Levi's book "The Drowned and the Saved," therefore begins with readings of the testimonies of those who found the strength to recount what had happened.
