Naples Pride Park is open!

  

Eight days of rainbow-themed politics, art, and culture at the Royal Hospice for the Poor in Naples.

On Friday, June 21st, Naples Pride Park opens its doors in Piazza Carlo III for its second edition.

This year, too, the historic monumental Neapolitan palace, one of the most impressive 18th-century buildings in Europe, will host a series of cultural, political, and artistic events, marked by inclusion and sharing. This year, too, the value of humanity, which asserts itself so brilliantly and powerfully, in Naples more than anywhere else, amidst the infinite multiplicity of orientations and identities, will be celebrated.

The second edition of the Pride Park of Naples, strongly desired by the Mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, is organized by the Naples Pride committee (Antinoo Arcigay Naples, ALFI le Maree, Associazione Trans Napoli and Pride Vesuvio) in collaboration with the Municipality of Naples, among the guests of the first day the former President of the Chamber, Roberto Fico, always close to the needs of LGBTQIA+ people, to open the Pride Park the Councilor for Equal Opportunities of the Municipality of Naples, Emanuela Ferrante.

It will start on June 21st with two events dedicated to parenthood: at 6pm, the presentation of FAMILIES, the new book by GIUSEPPINA LA DELFA, co-founder of the Rainbow Families Association. Attorney FRANCESCA QUARATO will speak remotely, and the event will be moderated by Chiara Fanara, regional representative of Rainbow Families. At 8:00 PM, the AGEDO Association of Naples, an association of LGBTQIA+ families, will present a reading/musical performance created especially for the occasion.

At 10:00 PM, it will be the turn of a highly anticipated event of this second edition of Pride Park: DADA'’, a young Neapolitan musician and singer, revelation of the 2022 edition of X Factor, much loved by the queer community, will perform in a showcase created specifically for the occasion.

On Saturday 22nd June, at 5.30pm, in the conference room of Pride Park, a talk will take place on ANTI-DISCRIMINATION CENTERS AND WELCOME FACILITIES FOR LGBTQIA+ PEOPLE Speakers will include: SERGIO MAZZOCCA (Anti-Violence and Equal Opportunities Service of the Municipality of Naples), ALESSANDRO BATTAGLIA (President of the Quore Association and coordinator of the ToHousing project), GIORGIO ZINNO (Mayor of San Giorgio a Cremano), ANTONELLO SANNINO (House of Cultures and Reception of LGBTQIA+ People of Naples and Codice Rainbow Caivano), CARLO CREMONA (LGBT Shelter "This House Is Not a Hotel"), and PAOLO RUSSO (LGBT Anti-Discrimination Center in Pomigliano d'Arco). Delegates from Shelter Centers in various Italian cities will join the event remotely.

On the same day, at 9:00 pm, a group of actresses and actors from the successful format AUTONOMOUS DIGNITY OF PROSTITUTION, created and directed by LUCIANO MELCHIONNA, will burst into the Pride Park space with his usual iconoclastic exuberance.

Sunday, June 23rd, will be dedicated to issues related to school and legality. From 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, a talk on school, alias identity, and bullying will take place in the conference room. This will be followed by the day's central event, dedicated to work and the dramatic phenomenon of usury, starting with the play. TIE-MAKERS of the playwright and director FORTUNATE CALVINO, a play that this year celebrates thirty years of success. It will be an opportunity to see the film based on the theatrical performance and to delve deeper into the topic with a talk featuring FORTUNATO CALVINO himself (playwright and director), GILDA CERULLO (Set designer and teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples), VITTORIO CICCARELLI (General Director for Campania of the FAI), ROSARIO D'ANGELO (FAI regional representative), NINO DANIELE (President of the Amato Lamberti Award), LUIGI FERRUCCI (President of the FAI - Federation of Italian Anti-Racketeering and Anti-Usury Associations), DIEGO GUIDA (publisher), RENATO LORI (Set designer and teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples) and some of the actors from the cast of Cravattari.  The talk will be coordinated by Mara Biancamano and Claudio Finelli.

Monday, June 24th and Tuesday, June 25th, dedicated respectively to Ecological Transition and Immigration (June 24th) and the Constitution (June 25th), will receive the organizational support of the Aperitivo Resistente Association. On Monday, June 24th, at 7:00 PM, following an international conference organized by the iKen association, the talk will take place. PEACE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT: CLIMATE CRISIS, ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE AND HUMAN RIGHTS with the participation of: ANNAMARIA ARNESE (Greenpeace), ANTONELLA CAPONE (Alfi Le Maree), ANNA FAVA (Italia Nostra), MARIA LIONELLI (Slow Food), ROBERTO MEZZALAMA (Environmental Engineer), GUIDO SANNINO (Rigenera), ANTONELLO SANNINO (Antinoo Arcigay Napoli). Moderator: VINCENZO CAPUANO (Aperitivo Resistente).

On Tuesday, June 25th, again at 6:00 PM, the Constitution will be discussed with the event: RIGHTS AND THE CONSTITUTION: WE DON'T WANT TO CHANGE IT, WE WANT TO IMPLEMENT IT, Round Table organized by Aperitivo Resistente with FRANCESCO AMORETTI (ANPI), MAURIZIO DE GIOVANNI (Writer), EMMA FERULANO (Who's Roma and Who's Not), ANDREA MORNIROLI (Dedalus), CHIARA PICCOLI (Alfi Le Maree), MASSIMO VILLONE (Coordination for Constitutional Democracy), NOOR SHIHADEH (Activist). Moderated and speaking for Antinoo Arcigay Naples: Vincenzo Capuano.

Tuesday 25 June will also be the turn of the event dedicated to the INTERNATIONAL REFUGEE DAY with the presence of MATTIA PERADOTTO, coordinator of the National Office against Racial Discrimination of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.

From June 26th to 28th, the calendar will become even more packed with events with A TRIBUTE TO ENZO MOSCATO in which they will take part ISA DANIELI, CRISTINA DONADIO, IMMA VILLA, GINO CURCIONE, EMILIO MASSA and GIUSEPPE AFFINITO (Wednesday, June 26 at 6:30 PM); with the day dedicated to the body and freedom (Thursday, June 27); with the unmissable political and cultural events of the last day of Pride Park, dedicated to politics and rights.

Furthermore, eight art exhibitions will be held in the Pride Park spaces:

NATURE Photographic exhibition by artist Gigi Sorrentino.

Finding yourself in touch with nature, without prejudice, with the simple desire to love one another and merge into one, in touch with Mother Earth! A selection of photos from the archive of photographer Gigi Sorrentino that tell the story of the encounter of two men who love each other and feel part of a planet Earth where love has neither gender nor orientation.

FIND ME/ SELF-PORTRAIT IN LOVE/ KIND IN THE SKY

Three paintings by musician, singer, and artist DADA', a beloved icon of the queer community, on the theme of freedom and identity expression.

R/ESISTENZE PURPLE: FRAGMENTS

Photographic exhibition curated by ALFI NAPOLI Le Maree.

Through some shots, the crucial stages and faces of those women, activists and revolutionaries, who fought for the rights and visibility of lesbian women.

ALEXANDER THE GREAT and VENUS VRENZOLA

Two works by artists Dario Gaipa and Maurizio Padula made with pieces of posters from the city of Naples and already exhibited at the National Archaeological Museum of Naples for the exhibition “Mann Sgamat!”

QUEER(ING) ART: PAOLO VALERIO  A selection of eco sculptures by artist Paolo Valerio.

Through his evocatively titled eco-sculptures, created by collecting waste materials found on the beaches of the Phlegraean coast or using dolls purchased at the Feira da Ladra in Lisbon or left by children on the beach, Paolo Valerio offers us an interesting variety of narratives ranging from the erotic to the domestic, introducing us to the varied and complex queer experience.

LETTERS OF LOVE AND FREEDOM edited by Pasquale Ferro, produced by the Blu Angels Association.

An exhibition of drawings, letters, clothing, and artifacts created by inmates of Poggioreale Prison as part of the "Beyond the Wall" project (Antinoo Arcigay Napoli and BLU ANGELS).

GENDER REFLECTIONS Review of commercials and posters curated by ALFI NAPOLI Le Maree.

This exhibition of commercials and posters aims to examine how advertising has helped shape the image of women in society and how this representation has influenced attitudes, expectations, and the possibilities of achieving one's own space and autonomy.

THE GAME OF WAR War toy exhibition curated by Vincenzo Capuano and the Naples Toy Museum.

If we can improve the world, we'll have toys that speak primarily of peace, but the path humanity has taken is one of seemingly endless escalation in violence and oppression. The exhibition offers a brief journey through the history of war toys and concludes with a Totò doll dressed as a soldier, a reminder of his timely warning in the form of a question: "Are we men or corporals?"“

Every day, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, it will also be possible to carry out Free, anonymous rapid tests for HIV, Syphilis, and Hepatitis C and get information on vaccinations, PrEP, and PEP thanks to the Check Point set up for the occasion.

Sunday 23 June from 3pm to 6pm, the Pride Park is hosting the Prevention Caravan To promote health among the transgender population, free visits and tests for the early diagnosis of breast cancer will be available.

Desks, stands, info points, and working groups will be present at Pride Park for the entire duration of the event. At the end of the day, after 10pm, there will be entertainment and music..

Admission to all Pride Park events is free.
