The association is independent from any government, party or political or religious ideology.
As Arcigay Roma we believe in a secular society, inclusive and open based on solidarity and equality, a society in which human and civil rights are recognized, promoted and guaranteed and gay, lesbian, bisexual and bi+, trans* and non-binary, queer, intersex and asexual people are free to be themselves.
As an Arcigay committee we aim to:
- obtain equal and full rights for LGBTQIA+ people, including in particular equal marriage and the recognition of LGBTQIA+ parenthood;
- obtain legal protection against violence and discrimination towards LGBTQIA+ people and the definitive consolidation of a non-sexist society;
- promote the well-being of the LGBTQIA+ community through local services and social and cultural change.
Arcigay Roma offers free services and themed activities, aiming to promote culture, dialogue, listening, and inclusion.
