My Life Is Revolution is the event in South Tyrol that celebrates coming out in all its facets and complexities.
My Life Is Revolution is first and foremost its POSTER, which conveys the fundamental message of visibility and self-determination and will be displayed on the streets throughout South Tyrol.
THE COMPETITION AND THE IDEA
This year we are proposing a competition entitled Manifest Revolution to create the graphic poster for the “My Life Is Revolution 2022” event”
The overall theme is coming out, visibility, and self-determination.
The specific theme for 2022 is “Gender Liberates All” because coming out is a liberating and emancipatory process not only for every LGBTQIA+ person, but for the entire community and individuals.
Gender is the theme of this era. But if you look closely, it's the theme that revolutionized the history of the 20th century, from feminist movements to the gay liberation movement, all the way to this queer, intersectional, transfeminist era.
Gender is about the self-determination of many people; it's about visibility, both the beautiful and liberating kind and the kind imposed by non-conforming, constantly visible bodies and lives. Gender is about not only the coming out of trans+ people but the lives of all LGBTQIA+ people, including cishet ones, because we are all subjected to gender norms.
50 years of the Italian Stonewall of Sanremo and the revolutionary history of FUORI! We ask you to tell us how you can use the visual arts that best suit you (photography, graphics, or other printed visual forms of expression) to give shape to your MY LIFE IS REVOLUTION manifesto.
The goal is to produce a 70x100cm file that captures the essence of coming out, the visibility of the gender revolution.
A commission will evaluate the works and choose the winning piece, which will be printed and become the image of the 2022 event.
Whoever creates the winning work will receive a cash prize of €200.00.
The other works will be exhibited in a special exhibition entitled Demonstrate. Ideas for to revolutionize oneself in October 2022
