ILGA and IGLYO speak Italian

I'd like to welcome the end of the holidays and the beginning of a new, challenging season of work and struggle by highlighting two pieces of news that give hope for the prospects of the LGBT movement, which has faced considerable hindrance in its homeland in its demands, but is precisely for this reason rich in trained and competent human resources.

At the end of 2005 the European organisations of which Arcigay is part, ILGA Europe And IGLYO (International Lesbian and Gay Youth Organisation) They've renewed their governing bodies. Now, more than ever, international organizations speak Italian.

The two co-presidents of ILGA Europe (by statute, of different genders) both come from Arcigay: they are the reconfirmed Richard Gottardi, outgoing co-president and national councilor of Arcigay, former president of Arcigay Pisa, and Deborah Lambillotte, president of Arcigay CIG of Milan in the 90s and then founder and national president of Arcitrans.

But the real news is the election of our Youth manager to the IGLYO board of directors, Fabio Saccà, which in recent months, together with the young people of Arcigay, has been able to build our new presence on the European scene.

To Riccardo, Deborah and Fabio, the Association's thanks and best wishes for good work from Arcigay!

Sergio Lo Giudice
National President of Arcigay
