The controversy rages in Italy over the revelation of homosexuality (“outing”) of six Italian political men. A list of six names, among the rightful ministers and deputies notably belonging to Silvio Berlusconi's party, was published on Friday 23 September on a blog hosted by Etats-Unis and fed by anonymous sources. The main association for the defense of homosexuals is the qualification of “ramassis misérable de commérages”.

The authors of the blog explain that “this initiative is not to bring about a little justice in a country where people here cannot defend themselves against the daily insults and attacks of a hypocritical political class”. “We have decided to begin with these six prime ministers names to understand clearly which Italian Parliament rules the rule of hypocrisy and discrimination”, affirmed on his blog. “Pour le moment, nous nous limitons à publier les noms de ceux qui appartiennent à des partis ayant voté contre la loi sur l’homophobie,” précisent-ils.

After two years, Italy has seen a resurgence of homophobic attacks, leading homosexual associations to organize demonstrations and advertise anti-homophobes. A proposition that has already been made in this sense is rejected for the next time in juillet by the Italian critics. Last night, questioned about his sexual feelings, Silvio Berlusconi announced: “I want to share the passion of beautiful women who are gay.”

“FANTASMES MÉLIRANTS”

Mentioned on the list, the prominent president of the Lombardy region, in the north of the pays, Roberto Formigoni, member of the People of Freedom of Knighthood, denounced “the delusional ghosts of unqualified persons”, so that the minister of equality of chances Mara Carfagna deplored a “cynic and violent scandal”. The s'agit of a "gratuitous defamation here does not help certainty pas the cause of the fight against homophobia, but here to counter fuel intolerance, and hence violence", to the minister, here avait soutenu the project avorté of him against homophobia.

For the Arcigay, main movement for the defense of homosexuals in Italy, this list contains “some previous reports, some demonstrations of homophobia, some dossiers, some verified or verified sources”, regrets President Paolo Patane in the community. “On if you find there face à un ramassis misérable de commérages sans fundement précis”, dénonce-t-il.
