Arcigay: Right-wing video farce

The indecent video parody released by two Fratelli d'Italia members offends Italian homosexuals, their families, and friends. Italian gays and lesbians urgently need to see their human rights recognized, not parodies.

While Cameron's right-wing coalition discusses civil marriage for all, including homosexuals, the Italian right is exclusively concerned with denigrating gays and lesbians. We suspect that what we've seen is just the tip of the iceberg of an intolerable homophobia simmering within the ranks of unelectable parties, so incapable are they of confronting reality.

Giorgia Meloni's apologies aren't enough to make up for the intellectual shortcomings of Raffaele Zanon and Alberto Pedrina: in politics, actions matter, and they must withdraw from the electoral race. There's no need to infect the next parliament with the homophobic squalor we've witnessed so many times in recent legislatures.
