HEALTH: "STIGMA STOP," ARCIGAY'S ONLINE MEETING SERIES ON SEXUAL HEALTH AND MARGINALITY, LAUNCHES. The first meeting is tomorrow.

Bologna, January 25, 2023 A series of twelve monthly online meetings to shine a spotlight on stigma and self-stigma among the LGBTQIA+ population, raise awareness, and provide tools to address it. This is Stigma Stop, the initiative launched by Arcigay as part of its long-standing health and wellness efforts. The meetings, broadcast online on Arcigay and Healthy Peers' social media channels and supported by ViiV Healthcare, feature volunteers from Arcigay's Health Network, as well as numerous guests from academia and organizations working to combat stigma and self-stigma, not only in relation to HIV and sexually transmitted infections but also in relation to all forms of marginalization affecting the community.

The series kicks off on Thursday, January 26th at 8:00 PM with talks by Michele Breveglieri and Gianmarco Corradini on serophobia and relationships. "Live after live," explains Ilenia Pennini, Head of Health at Arcigay's national secretariat, "we will deconstruct the foundations of stigma and self-stigma. Together with many guests, we will discuss sexual health, prevention, consent, the relationship with one's body and physicality, sexual practices, and the comprehensive well-being of LGBTQIA+ people.".
