SUPPORT RIETI LAZIO PRIDE WITH A DONATION!

For a specific political choice, Lazio Pride has no godmothers or godfathers in the most classical sense of the term. Let ourselves be represented by figures outside the community, not really involved in our struggles except as evanescent allies whose only role is that of catalysts of fame and sellers of image, do not belong to our demonstration.

As Rieti Lazio Pride we wanted the artist chosen to represent our day to be a person from the LGBTQAI+ community, who lived in our area, who loved it and cared about its well-being and who was, above all, a person who carries true content, struggle, claims Through one's body and one's work. Every day, not just once a year. A person whose life transcends gender, a political body that overwhelms a society still stuck on two tracks.

The choice could not fail to fall on Margo Paciotti.

-When, in 2014, the actress, director and new star of the Drag firmament landed between Borgo Velino and Antrodoco Perhaps she could not have imagined how much this small part of Italy of ours would inspire her in her artistic career and how, in return, our land would have the opportunity to savor the full power of her art.

“"I'm not originally from here," she tells us, "but I've been active in the area with cultural projects for ten years now, and yes, you could say I was adopted. After some initial hesitation, my work in the theater, particularly with the younger generations and consequently in contact with their families, helped me become known and accepted. Today I feel more protected and loved than ever. With my theater company we operate in small towns in the Rieti area creating multidisciplinary festivals, workshops and artistic residences and over the years, through art we managed to address important issues relating to the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community”.

In 2005 he co-founded Ondadurto Theatre, a company that has staged shows in most important international festivals in Europe and the world. Theatre educator for new generations, teachers, and performing arts professionals in national and international contexts. She is the artistic director of DRAG ME UP and the QUEER SUMMER FESTIVAL and one of the co-founders of the international network ARTS FOR GENDER REVOLUTION.

Fully understanding the power of Margò's performances is no easy task. His art is so multifaceted, loud, impactful making any attempt to rigidly categorize it impossible.

On stage puts his body at the center, not only as a form of expression, but as a political instrument To transform the body/object into meaning. Bright lipstick, stiletto heels, and voluminous wigs to break all the rules and fight for LGBTQIA+ rights.

“"When you contacted me to be an ambassador for Lazio Pride 2025 in Rieti," adds Margò, "after some initial surprise, I immediately decided to accept. Despite some small concerns stemming from my knowledge of the issues this area faces, which are relevant to our community, I was happy to be there and contribute to the event.".

For this reason too, Arcigay Rieti and Lazio Pride are certain that his presence will not only be inspiration to the many queer, transgender and non-binary people born here, who love this land and do not want to be forced to leave it to seek more welcoming places, but that its message of revolution, transformation and freedom will be experienced by all those who will be with us on September 13th.

“I won't deny that there's still a lot of awareness work to be done,” she concludes, “but I must admit I'm hopeful. I deeply believe in the new generations, I have a lot of faith in them and I firmly believe that we should focus our energies on dialogue with * more young people”.

And we're convinced of this too. See you at Rieti Lazio Pride!
