Saturday, September 26, 2009, at the Lido Marco Polo in Pineto, in the province of Teramo, Via Lungomare N° 2 – Garden Area – 64025 Pineto (TE) – Tel. 085.9490846, just 10 km from Pescara, there will be an entire day dedicated to the LGBT community.
The event will be based on Symbolic celebration of LGBT weddings with the Consoli Lay Rite – a ritual conceived by the famous gay writer and historian Massimo Consoli, who passed away about two years ago, with whom several similar unions, both public and private, were celebrated in the past.
The main attractions of the day are centered on the presence of the popular singer-songwriter as Testimonial of the event Valeria Vaglio, who will speak during the day on all the topics, of the founder and current Honorary President of Arcigay: Franco Grillini, who will present his book “Ecce Omo“ and the participation in the event of: National President of Arcigay Aurelio Mancuso, some members of the National Arcilesbica Secretariat including the President Francesca Polo, the Representative of the Certi Diritti Abruzzo Association Luigi Caribé and the President of the Gay Lib Association Enrico Oliari with other representatives of the national secretariat and representatives of local authorities.
The event will start at 3:30 PM, at the Marco Polo facility in Pineto. The event will begin with the presentation of the book "Ecce Omo" by Franco Grillini, followed by a discussion between LGBT representatives and the public on the themes covered in the book and on civil rights, particularly the homophobic acts recently experienced by our community.
At 5.30 pm the celebration of secular weddings will take place at the Marco Polo beach, where the famous wedding favors will be distributed. Confetti Gay Bride, provided by Sulmona-based Gay Friendly entrepreneur Mario Pelino. Followed by an after-hours aperitif and a drag queen show with Elizabeth & Lady Krizia. Finally, impromptu performances, music, and entertainment.
