The official data of the municipal elections in Bergamo, released today, confirm the election to the City Council of Renato Sabbadini, national foreign affairs manager of Arcigay.

This data, together with the election of the Province of Milan Philip Penati, on which Arcigay had provided voting instructions, confirms what emerged two weeks ago: the LGBT community has learned to use its vote to reward those candidates willing to promote civil rights, and it is doing so with positive results. In particular, with the election of Renato Sabbadini in Bergamo, Alessandro Zan in Padua, Sergio Lo Giudice in Bologna, and Nunzio Liso in Bari, Arcigay not only elected gay movement leaders to local governments but also contributed significantly to the victory of the center-left coalition.
