The unexpected nature of relationships between women
THE LESBIAN MOVEMENT IN ITALY
Ed. The Finger and the Moon

This volume, promoted by ArciLesbian, traces the general lines of the history of political lesbianism in our country, from FUORI! to lesbian-feminism, to Arci: publishing houses, magazines, theatre, cinema and the web, sexuality experienced and theorised and its implications for politics. Some authors will talk to us about rebellious or respectable lesbians, equal opportunities or subversive, and the unexpected nature of relationships between women.

The book is like a purple "Ariadne's thread" that links together the different Italian lesbian realities starting from the seventies of Fuori! up to the period following the World Pride in Rome 2000 – he declares Lilia Mulas, spokesperson for Genoa Pride – was born for collect and pass on to new generations of women and lesbians or to those interested in gender history, the great political and theoretical significance of Italian lesbianism.

This passage of experiences and the relationship between lesbianism and the world of women will be discussed in Genoa on 18 June 2009 together to Equal Opportunities Councillor Valeria Maione, historian Augusta Molinari, publisher Francesca Polo and some of the curators and authors: Cristina Gramolini, Helen Ibry and Roberta Vannuccthe.
