We thank the Minister of Health for his reassurances that RAI has no veto on the use of the word "condom" and that a culture of prevention is being promoted.
Arcigay is keen to emphasize that, 30 years after the onset of HIV infection, the country can no longer afford reticence, embarrassment, and moralism when addressing any discussion about pandemic prevention.
Condoms remain the best prevention tool to date, and promoting them is an act of protecting the health of all citizens.
We urge the national television station to address this issue by making prevention and condom use a central focus of its communications, especially those aimed at young people and the very young.
