Alessandro Zan, member of the Arcigay National Secretariat, municipal councillor of Padua and father of the registry of de facto couples approved in the same Municipality, was elected unanimously National President of LINFA, the Italian League of New Families at the conference held on Saturday, June 9th in Florence in the "Le Murate" municipal hall, under the patronage of the Municipality and Province of Florence. He was elected honorary president of the association. Franco Grillini, member of parliament for the Democratic Left.
The National Council of the association includes prominent figures including Fabio Milani, mayor of Mogliano Veneto, Gabriella Ercolini, DS regional councilor of Emilia Romagna, Cristina Morelli, Green councilor in Liguria, Adele Parrillo, widow of the director Stefano Rolla in Nassirija and Donatella Loprieno, professor of Constitutional Law at the University of Calabria.
""The Linfa – declares the newly elected president – will give voice to all the families that the National Conference on the family organized by Minister Bindi excluded: de facto families, homosexual families, single-parent families, single-parent families with children, and blended families. We cannot accept an ideological family model imposed by the state and institutions. The family has changed, and all families need protection, and if the needs and demands of these citizens are not listened to, the risk is that we will arrive at an ethical state like that of fundamentalist countries".
